Things to do

When you get to Hervey Bay you won’t be short on things to see and do…

Fraser Island
World heritage listed Fraser Island is a must see for any visitor to the Fraser Coast!  It is the largest sand island in the world and one of the rare places where rainforest grows on sand.

A scenic 4WD tour is one of the best ways to explore the unspoilt beauty of Fraser Island.

Discover its pristine fresh-water lakes and crystal clear creeks, walk beneath towering rainforests, be awe-inspired by the towering cliffs of multi-coloured sands that are the Cathedrals, and see the Maheno Shipwreck first-hand.

NEXT has put together a stack of excellent 4WD tours and packages for you.  Book the tour when you book your bed at NEXT to ensure you don't miss out.

Whale watching

EExplore Hervey Bayvery year from Mid-July to November, the mighty humpback whales take time out from their annual migration for a rest in the protected waters of Hervey Bay. There is no better place to experience their antics and their awesome size than close up on a whale-watching cruise.

Rising majestically from the calm blue waters the massive shape of a humpback whale surges in an amazing display of its size and strength, lifting its entire body from the water before crashing back into the sea with a massive splash.

Magic! That’s the only word that can describe the experience of watching nature’s gentle giants, the magnificent humpback whales, frolic in their aquatic playground.
